Tell us about yourself and your organization!
RotoBaller.com is a publisher of fantasy sports news, advice and analysis – and is home to the largest live chat community in the fantasy sports world. With over 100 paid writers and editors, we are able to publish articles and news across ten different sports. RotoBaller has developed over 20 tools and apps to help our subscribers win their seasonal and daily fantasy leagues. In 2016, RotoBaller was invited to join the SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio family, and now proudly provides cutting edge fantasy analysis over the airwaves.
How did you get your start in the fantasy sports industry?
Like many others, we launched a blog just to get our fantasy sports opinions and analysis out into the world. Friends began writing as well, then friends of friends, and eventually the site grew into a fully blown fantasy sports advice and analysis platform.
How many years has your organization been in business?
Four years.
What made you decide to join FSTA?
Joining the FSTA was a no-brainer. We wanted to be connected to other folks in the industry and have access to the FSTA’s reach and resources. We are always open to making new friends and forming new partnerships, so the FSTA was a great place for that.
What are you looking to get out of your membership with FSTA?
Connections, friends, partnerships, lasting business relationships, a few laughs maybe, all that good stuff!
Where do you see the greatest opportunity for growth in the industry?
We believe there is an enormous opportunity in the one-on-one custom fantasy advice space. Every fantasy sports manager has a unique team with unique league settings, and one-size-fits-all content can leave something lacking. We are addressing these shortcomings by breaking down the barriers between team managers and experts / writers. RotoBaller has some big plans in the realm of live chat, which should add a new and exciting twist to how people give and receive fantasy sports advice.
Finally, what’s your favorite fantasy sport?
We are stats nerds, and grew up hanging out at Shea Stadium all day, so it’s baseball. But football is a very very very very close second!
Thanks for sharing, Alex! We hope to see you at the FSTA 2017 Winter Conference.
