FSGA Releases White Papers Detailing Why “Sports Betting Must Be Mobile”

MIDDLETON, Wis. – As states consider new sports betting laws and regulations, the Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association announced it has released four White Papers detailing the benefits and common misconceptions of online sports betting.

The series of White Papers, entitled Sports Betting Must Be Mobile, are geared toward helping legislators and key stakeholders understand the impact of mobile sports betting and reinforcing the FSGA’s belief that mobile access must be a key component to any state’s sports betting structure.

As the White Papers explain, people today demand convenience in their everyday lives, and those who want to bet on sports are no different. Mobile sports betting, however, does more than simply provide a better experience for consumers.

“Sports betting in the U.S. needs to offer mobile options if it’s going to truly combat the illegal market, maximize tax revenue and offer the best consumer protection measures,” said FSGA President Paul Charchian. “The FSGA’s series of White Papers make a very compelling case for mobile sports betting and clear up many misconceptions.”

The first White Paper examines The Case for Mobile Sports Betting by detailing the revenue opportunities, key regulatory issues and the benefits to combating the illegal market.

The second White Paper details how mobile sports betting Works with Casinos as gaming revenue at brick and mortar casinos has actually increased significantly in correlation with the expansion of legal online sports betting.

The third White Paper explains how mobile sports betting Provides the Best Consumer Protection by enhancing player identification, voluntary and involuntary exclusion methods, readily available access to problem gambling resources and information, player deposit limits and more.

The fourth and final White Paper illustrates how mobile sports betting Is a Positive for State Lotteries by demonstrating that state lottery revenues have increased operating in conjunction with legal sports betting.
