The all-in-one CBS Sports Fantasy app includes Football, Baseball, Basketball and Hockey teams in one central place, and lets CBS Sports players manage their team wherever they are. We reworked the app this year to give users what they need most: better access to their scores and personalized player information.
CBS Sports players can use the app to draft and manage their team from any device, with the ability to set their lineup, add/drop players and make trades. Fantasy players with multiple teams can even jump between their different teams in only two taps. The app also features live scoring with fast and accurate fantasy point updates, projections and win probability on all the live action so users know exactly how they’re doing. A league talk option offers the ability to trash talk, set up draft dates and communicate with other members of their league. Plus, personalized content gives users quick and easy access to their team’s and league’s players and performance.
New this year, our app delivers more direct access to scores and scoring previews for player matchups, providing more data in a scouting report to help users make the right calls; power rankings to let users see how they really stack up against the rest of their league; and league polls, so users can vote on things like draft scheduling and trades, right from the league feed. We included live projections and win probability for football, and live access to FANTASY FOOTBALL TODAY and other video programming.
This app also helps any user dominate their league, wherever they play, with available content like season projections from award-winning experts; a draft companion for any site including the latest stats, projections, rankings and news; and updated player news including injury reports, performance predictions and player rankings.

The new ESPN Fantasy App, launched ahead of the 2016 NFL season in August and available on iOS and Android platforms, is the home of the most-played Fantasy Football game in the world, and also houses fantasy basketball, baseball, and hockey within a single, beautifully-designed and visually rich application. Players can seamlessly create a league, draft from their phone or tablet, and execute lineup changes, make, accept and reject trades and follow their teams in real-time with free, live scoring.
In addition to a world-class set of tools and features to serve fantasy players, written and video content were elevated this season to bring ESPN’s trusted team of fantasy experts – including Matthew Berry, Eric Karabell, Mike Clay, Field Yates, Stephania Bell, Tristan H. Cockcroft and more— front and center. Content is surfaced by an emphasis on personalization at the player level and by opt-in player alerts, allowing the user to sift quickly through all the information pertinent to their team.
The results of the new, unified ESPN Fantasy application coupled with an emphasis on fantastic content has been staggering. According to the leading industry measurement company comScore, the ESPN Fantasy App was the second largest sports application in the world in September with 13.4 million users (ESPN App was first at over 15 million, and the next closest Fantasy application was Yahoo! at 6.9 million) and led all sports applications with 2.8 billion minutes spent within the application. The #2 application, Yahoo! Fantasy, had 1.4 billion minutes.

This App is a game-changer. The unification of all of our products in one app has created a rising tide that has lifted the entire fantasy boat. Fantasy basketball and fantasy hockey grew to record numbers and the forecast for baseball is similar. This means that we are succeeding in our mission to make fantasy accessible to every man, woman and child sports fan on the planet. With our international presence, this is not a pipe dream, but an achievable goal which trenscends the Fantasy Sports Trade Association’s mission. In October, the App was once again No. 2 in the Sports App category and No. 1 overall in sports app minutes consumed. We are also outpacing last year in retaining our fantasy football players, who typically start to drop off (lose interest) mid NFL-season.
