Meet FSGA’s new Executive Director: Tony Veroeven, CAE, CNAP

Tony brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as our newly appointed Executive Director of FSGA. He specializes in various facets of organizational leadership, including marketing, strategic partnerships, membership and client relations, fundraising, development, and engagement.

He joined the American Marketing Association, Madison Chapter board in 2014 and was president from 2020 to 2021. He has a deep understanding of the responsibilities of nonprofit directors.

In 2015, he joined AMPED Association Management and The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) association, managing the growth of its online buyer’s guide and community. Under his guidance, the site achieved extraordinary growth, with sales soaring by an impressive 141% and website traffic nearly quadrupling in three years. His innovative spirit extended to the world of podcasts, where he developed and hosted four podcasts and produced another as part of his client work. Notably, the CSIA podcast centered around a niche engineering market garnered an impressive 12,000 downloads within six months.

In 2019, he was honored with the prestigious “2019 WSAE Visionary Award” by the Wisconsin Society of Association Executives for his outstanding leadership and remarkable achievements in association management.

Tony earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2022 and Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) in 2023.

Tony served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Tavern League Foundation, a notable 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a $1.2 million budget. In this role, he spearheaded initiatives such as sponsored golf outings, raffle campaigns, donation solicitation, and the management of substantial grants. Under his leadership, the Foundation’s budget experienced remarkable growth, surging by an impressive 34% in a single budget cycle. Tony also served as the VP of External Affairs at the Tavern League of Wisconsin, a trade association with 5,000 members. 

Tony’s track record of retooling sponsorship programs and tradeshow exhibits at both organizations underscores his ability to drive impactful change and achieve tangible results. Collaborating with Managing Director Karie Krantz, he successfully revamped TLW’s membership sales and onboarding process, resulting in a notable nine percent growth in membership in just 18 months.

Tony was on the FSGA staff team from 2018-2020 in marketing, membership, sponsorship, and events. He served as Interim Executive Director from March 2020 to July 2020. During the lockdown, he collaborated with FSGA Volunteers to transition online through webinars and a week-long event including multiple online drafts, football and prop bet drafts. Tony led the marketing and sponsorship efforts, leading to nearly 2,000 viewers for the week-long event.

As FSGA’s Executive Director, Tony brings a dynamic blend of leadership, innovation, and a proven track record of success.  We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to achieving new heights of excellence under his guidance and vision.
