1UP Mobile, the makers of Draft Rivals: Fantasy Basketball and Baseball, launched their first fantasy football game last week, in time for the 2017-18 NFL season.

Draft Rivals has been featured by Apple as “New Apps We Love” and has accumulated over 170,000 downloads since December. The team has high expectations for their first football season after being awarded ‘The Most Innovative New Fantasy Sports Business’ by the members of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) and have recently been accepted into SportRadar’s Acceleradar program for promising sports startups.

Draft Rivals takes a different approach to DFS with the gameplay leaning more social gaming while still combining the best elements of fantasy sports.

Draft Rivals is a free-to-play game that allows users to face off in live PvP (Player versus Player) action across the world. Users build their fantasy teams by opening card packs of players. The more you play and the better your team performs gives you the ability to collect additional players and level up your superstars.

“We set out to create a game that was different than what was already out there. A game that had a more casual feel than a salary cap format” said 1UP CEO Sam Bremang. “We try and capture that same excitement with our game as you had as a kid opening up a pack of cards and landing that superstar player. DFS lost its fun factor. We wanted to bring it back with something new and exciting.”

Draft Rivals: Fantasy Football is available for download on both iOS and Android
