FSGA HONORS THE BEST IN FANTASY SPORTS AND SPORTS BETTING

THE FANTASY FOOTBALLERS, ESPN EACH WIN FIVE AWARDS; MONKEY KNIFE FIGHT TAKES HOME ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AND DISRUPTOR OF THE YEAR

LAS VEGAS The Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association (FSGA) handed out industry awards Wednesday during its annual Winter Conference. Top honors, highlighting the best in fantasy sports and sports betting, were shared by The Fantasy Footballers and ESPN, who each took home five awards.

For the third consecutive year, The Fantasy Footballers were named Small Business of the Year. They also repeated as Most Outstanding Social Media in addition to capturing Best Fantasy Podcast and Coolest Logo – a new award this year. Footballers analyst Mike Wright won the fan vote for Fantasy Sports Analyst of the Year.

ESPN swept the media hosting categories, with Field Yates being named Best Fantasy Sports Host and Doug Kezirian winning Best Sports Betting Host. Chris Fallica won Sports Betting Analyst of the Year honors, while the network’s Daily Wager program captured Sports Betting Video Show of the Year.

Yahoo Fantasy also had a strong showing, capturing four awards including Best Daily Fantasy Sports Game and Best Season-Long Fantasy Sports Game.

Fanball’s Scott Fish, who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Toys for Tots through his Fantasy Cares program, was honored as the FSGA’s Humanitarian of the Year.

Sports Betting Business of the Year went to FanDuel Group, while DraftKings took home Fantasy Sports Business of the Year.

Monkey Knife Fight won both Rookie of the Year and Disruptor of the Year. Best Content awards went to RotoGrinders (for fantasy sports) and The Action Network (for sports betting).

“In this first full year of expanding the scope of the association to include sports betting, I’m thrilled to see the quality of our nominees and winners,” said FSGA President Paul Charchian. “The innovation and talent we’re seeing is unparalleled and the future of our industry is bright.”
