FSGA Celebrates Winners of Elevator Pitch Competitions

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – The Fantasy Sports and Gaming Association (FSGA) announced the winners of their bi-annual pitch competitions held at the FSGA Winter Conference.

Hedge Pay, a consumer technology company that invests payment roundups into fantasy contests, won the Investor Pitch – an event for maturing companies that have already secured funding to pitch their product before a panel of judges from venture capital firms.

“We are super humbled to be selected as the FSGA Pitch competition winners, considering the awesome slate of presenters this year,” said Hedge Pay Co-Founder Jackson Fitzgerald.

“Thanks, also, to the FSGA and Vela Wood for sponsoring the prize for the competition. The entire conference was awesome beyond the pitch, namely the amazing panels of speakers and events. This was a great exhibition for startups and public companies, alike.”

Hedge Pay won a $5,000 prize, funded by Vela Wood, for being selected by a panel of judges including: Davis Catlin of Las Vegas Sands, Benjie Cherniak of Avenue H Capital, Lloyd Danzig of Sharp Alpha Advisors, and Edward King of Acies Investments.

Four other companies competed in the Investor Pitch, including: ASX Sports, Armchair Quarterback, Brothrow, and World Champion Fantasy.

She Plays, a fantasy sports operator specializing in U.S. women’s professional sports leagues, won the Elevator Pitch. This competition allows startups to pitch their product to FSGA conference attendees for feedback. The winner is selected by attendees.

“It was a wonderful experience to participate in the Elevator Pitch Competition,” said She Plays CEO Ashley Hart. “It was a great opportunity to share the story of She Plays and to start making connections from the moment the conference began. I highly recommend any start-up to sign up for pitch competitions at future conferences.”

Other companies competing in the Quick Pitch include: All 22 LLC, Goat Draft Fantasy Sports, Hater Fantasy Sports, Novig, Olithan Solutions, and Right Call Entertainment Inc.

The FSGA Pitch Competitions are staples of the association’s bi-annual conferences.

“I was really impressed by both the quick pitch and investor pitch sessions,” said Kevin Vela, FSGA Board of Directors member and managing partner at Vela Wood. “The companies and pitches get better every year and are reflective of the upward trend of the sports betting and fantasy sports industries.”
