So far, 2015 has been an important year for fantasy sports from a legal and legislative aspect, and the 2015 Fantasy Sports Trade association Summer Conference will provide attendees with an update of these issues.

The FSTA Summer Conference on June 22-23 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in the heart of Manhattan also will provide providing practical advice for new fast sports companies looking to build sustaining businesses in one of North America’s fastest-growing industries.

On June 23 at 9:20 a.m. in the Broadway Ballroom, RotoWire president Peter Schoenke will moderate an update on the issues facing the fantasy sports industry. Among the topics will be recent legislative initiatives to fully legalize fantasy sports in Iowa and Arizona and potential changes to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement act that contains a specific carve-out that declares fantasy sports a game of skill.

That presentation will be followed by a look at the issues facing running a fantasy sports business. Marc Zwillinger, managing member of ZwillGen PLLC will moderate a discussion on issues such as preventing deceptive and unfair marketing practices, negotiating endorsement deals, preserving user data and other issues.

Zwillinger will be joined on the dais by Stacey Brandenburg, general counsel for the Federal Trade Commission’s Division of Privacy and Identify Protection and John Murphy, principal with John Murphy & Associates.
