One of the most important roles the Fantasy Sports Trade Association champions on behalf of its members is to maintain the game’s status as legal and non-gambling. The FSTA advocates for its members and the nearly 41 million players in the U.S. and Canada. That effort continues.

The Winter Conference on Jan. 15-16 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas will feature an update on current and potential legal issues facing the association. The session, on Jan. 16 at 10:15 a.m., will be moderated by Peter Schoenke of RotoWire. Panelists will include:

  • Ryan Brennan, Managing Director, Advantage Capital Partners
  • AJ Donelson, Co-founder of the Advocom Group
  • Tom Walls, Principal, Dentons US LLP

Among the topics to be discussed are efforts to fully legalize Fantasy Sports in Iowa and Arizona and overtures to change the federal gambling laws and potentially the carve-out for Fantasy Sports in the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

The Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) will hold the 2015 FSTA Winter Conference on Jan. 15-16 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
