17 Days to NYC: Elevator Pitches, and the First FSTA ‘Shark Tank’

By Will Mossa,    FSGA Event News

The most exciting two minutes in sports is the Kentucky Derby. The most exciting three minutes in fantasy sports is the Elevator Pitch, where fantasy sports entrepreneurs get to showcase their ideas in front of the attendees at the 2015 FSTA Summer Conference in New York City.

Businesses with a hot new idea have three minutes to convince the audience that their idea has what it takes to be the next great fantasy sports idea. This year’s Elevator Pitch winner will receive one more perk: entry into the first FSTA ‘Shark Tank’.

Hosted by Rami Genauer, founder and director of FightMetric, the first FSTA Shark Tank puts your company in front of a packed audience and panel of seasoned industry venture capitalist investors. You’ll have three to five minutes to share your idea, product, or service. You’ll get invaluable feedback, critiques, and maybe even a follow-up conversation.

Besides the Elevator Pitch winners, the winner of Sunday’s Hack-A-Thon also gets a pass to the event. Beyond that, anyone else with an early-round funding opportunity can apply for this unique opportunity.

If you’d like to throw your company’s hat in the ring, send a one-page document describing how you’d spend three to five minutes in front of the sharks. The deadline is Friday June 12th. Send your entry to: StacieStern@Head2Head.com. Your entries will be evaluated by a group of external judges who will choose which companies will be awarded the opportunity to join the Elevator Pitch winners.

Moderated by FSTA Hall-of-Famer Matthew Berry, senior financial analyst of ESPN, the FSTA ‘Shark Tank’ includes:

Jason Ader, Chief Investment Officer, SpringOwl Asset Management

Greg Bettinelli, Partner, Upfront Ventures

Mike Brown, General Partner, Bowery Capital

Jason Ostheimer, Co-founder and Partner, Advancit Capital

The 2015 FSTA Summer Conference is June 22-23 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel in New York City. Registration for this event is still open. To register, go to www.fstaconference.com.
